Very predictable from about 2 minutes in.
SPOILER ALERT…
Why did Lou keep calling in sick after he’d been fired? This gave the sense that the reader was making it up as he went along. And when they kidnapped the pretty girl the reader referred to her being tied up or taped up, “or whatever”.
The batteries running low was obvious. The old lady’s .44 and the money changing to fake was sort of clever, but fairly obvious.
I resisted the urge to stop in the middle and kept listened through to the end, hoping for a clever twist, but there wasn’t one. One of the weakest stories I’ve heard on TOR.com.
Sorry to complain, but I expected better.
I thought the way Lou kept calling in sick even after he’d been fired was enjoyably daft.
Hoped for a twist that involved the cat not being dead after all, but liked the story and the authors’ dead pan narration
